Rev. Arthur Thomas Potts, 78, of Avondale, died at 10:00 a.m. Mon. Dec. 28, 2020 at his home. He was born on Sept. 13, 1942 in Zanesville, a son of the late Samuel Thomas and Ina Marie Nelson Potts. He was pastor of the  Evangelism Center (now LifeWay Church) from 1990 to 2009. He was also employed by Owens Corning in Newark, Ohio for 27 1/2 years and prior to that had worked at Chesterhill Stone Company.

     He is survived by his wife Sharon Mellinger Potts whom he married August 18, 1962. His sons Andrew (Peggy) Potts and Mark (Valerie) Potts. Daughter-in-law Shirley (Kenny) Jones. His sisters Janet (Gary) Sharkey and Mollie Potts. Sisters-in-law Linda Potts, Becky Richard, brother and sister-in-law Rev. Paul and Shirley Dennis. Grandchildren Bryce, Tiffany, Brett, Nick, Braden, Stephanie, and Cameron Potts. Several nieces and nephews.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son Matthew Alan Potts, one brother Raymond Potts, brother-in-law David Richard.

     Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m.  until 12:30 p.m. Thur. Dec. 31, 2020 with service to follow at 12:30 p.m.at Life Way Church with Pastor Jim Henderson officiating. Face coverings are required and social distancing will be observed during the visitation and service.
