Carrie Samantha “Sammi” Bateson, 49, of Crooksville, passed away on Thur. June 11, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on Oct. 5, 1976 in Zanesville. She fought a long battle with health issues. The one thing that never changed was the love she had for her family.

She is survived by her longtime companion Bruce Riggs. Two children Brittany Loterbaugh (Andy Bray) and Blake (Teesha) Bateson. Her mother Gloria Fulk. Seven grandchildren Kayden, Landon, Brantley, Bryer, Jace, Raylyn and Hudson.  Her siblings Jamie (Pat) Loterbaugh, Vicky Loterbaugh (Jon Moore), Tim (Cindy) Lantz. A half-sister Jeannie Hayden.Several nieces and nephews. A special friend Kylie Schooly.

She was preceded in death by her father James Loterbaugh. Her grandparents Paul and Louella Fulk, Esther Ackley, and James Gilbert Loterbaugh.

Friends may call from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tue. June 16, 2026 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage where a service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Eric Waltemire officiating.
