Charles E. Schneider, Jr.

Charles E.  "Sonny and Charlie" Schneider, Jr., 93, of Zanesville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday October 4, 2021 peacefully in his home. He was born on April 2, 1928 in Zanesville, a son of the late Phoebe (Mercer) Schneider and Charles E. Schneider, Sr. He was retired from being a self-employed truck driver. Charlie was a United States Army veteran serving in Puerto Rico from 1953-1955. Charlie loved the Lord and had attended First Assembly of God Church most of his life, which his father had started back in 1940. He had a quick wit and loved to tease family and friends. He always had a twinkle in his eyes. He had a passion for trucks and cars. He will be sadly missed.  We were all so blessed to have him for a long 93 years and he will forever be in our hearts.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years Mildred "Millie" Schneider. His children Sheri (Gregory) and Rick McConnell and Judy (Gregory) and Chris Johnson. Five grandchildren Jessica Johnson, Andrea (Jeff) Gamache, Alex Johnson, Taylor Pitcock, and Brandon Pitcock. Two great-grandchildren. One sister Vivian Eppley. Several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Dorothy Schneider, Ruth Merkle, Virginia Schneider, and Jean Eppley. One son Jerry Gregory. 

Friends may call from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday October 7, 2021 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage where funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Peters officiating.
