Charles Austin Sode

Charles "Austin" Sode, 23, of Thornville, passed away on July 29, 2021 at OSU Medical Center following a severe asthma attack. Austin gave the gift of life as an organ and tissue donor. He was born on November 16, 1997 in Newark, Ohio.  He is survived by his parents Charlie and Dee (George) Sode of Thornville. One brother Dakota Sode. His paternal grandmother Lore Sode. His maternal grandparents David and Sally George. Aunts and uncles Charlene Spence, Christine Loughman, Tracy Morrow, David George, Donald George, Daphne Davis. Many cousins as well as friends left behind.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Charles Sode.

Austin was a cabinet builder for Kreager Company in Newark. He was a 2016 graduate of Sheridan High School where he played baseball and he was an avid hunter and loyal Buckeyes and Raiders fan, alongside his father and brother. Austin's fun-loving, quick-witted, and kind-hearted personality made each day of his life feel like a celebration. Though we hoped for a million more, he has left his family, his friends, and the Perry County community with so many beautiful memories and laughs to hold onto.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday August 6, 2021 at his parents home at 10965 Zartman Road Thornville, Ohio 43076. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will  be in Thornville Lutheran Reformed Cemetery,  Following the graveside family and friends are invited back to the Sode barn.
