Clara “Jo” JoAnn Mills, 74, of Zanesville, passed away on Thursday May 14, 2026 at her home. She was born on May 28, 1951 in Newark, Ohio, a daughter of the late Haskell Van Fritter and Alice Eleanor Ryan Guttery. She loved everything about chickens, enjoyed crossword puzzles, fishing for bluegills and watching old Westerns. She had worked at Heartstone Pottery and retired from Goodwill.
She is survived by one son Thomas (Christy) Barnes. Three daughters Amy (Jim) Wilson, Jenny (Hiram) Haines, and Sarah (Travis Manning) Spence. six grandchildren Austin (Alexa) Wilson, Ben (Kaitlynn) Wade, Jaxon Spence, Josie Spence, Aden Barnes and Kasey (Ashlyn) Trask-Barnes; Great-grandchildren Ariella and Arlin Wilson, Ryker and Selah Trask. One niece Wendi (John) Wion. Several cousins.
She was preceded in death by one brother John Haskell Fritter.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
