Daniel R. Shepherd

Daniel R. Shepherd, 63, of South Zanesville, passed away Sunday October 29, 2023 at his home of natural causes. He was born on July 1, 1960, in Zanesville. He graduated from Maysville High School in 1978 and obtained a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University.  He participated in basketball, baseball, and cross  country. His loved of sports carried into his adult life as he coached youth basketball and baseball.  He enjoyed watching sports, especially Ohio State football and Cincinnati Reds baseball. He  spent most of his life in South Zanesville.

     He is survived by one daughter Dr. Chrissy (Nathan) MacMaster. One grandson John MacMaster. His mother Judy Shepherd. One sister Julie (Randy) Swingle. One brother Tim (Patty) Shepherd. Several nieces and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by his father Dean Shepherd. One sister Leanna Wilson. One brother Dean Shepherd.

     A celebration of life will be held from 11:00 a.m until 1:00 p.m. Tue. Nov. 7, 2023 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home in White Cottage followed by interment of his ashes in Mount Horeb Cemetery in Crooksville.
