Darlene Sue Cox, 76, of West Jefferson, formerly of Zanesville, passed away at 1:46 p.m. Mon. Dec. 7, 2020 at Doctor's Hospital West in Columbus. She was born on June 20, 1944 in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Max and Verna (Sweet) Tinkham. She had been employed as a switchboard operator for 25 years at Bethesda Hospital. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and a Christian by faith. She is survived by three children Rhonda (Mike) Prather, Scott (Kristy) Hoopes, and Tim (Donna) Hoopes. Seven grandchildren Dustin Maurer, Nathan Maurer, Ryan Hoopes, Shane Hoopes, Dillon Hoopes, Kristen Hoopes, and Landon Hoopes. Eight great-grandchildren. Three brothers Larry (Billie) Tinkham, Norman (Cindy) Tinkham, and Chris (Pauline) Tinkham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clay Cox.
Private visitation and service will be held at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home in White Cottage. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday June 5, 2021 at Wesley Union Cemetery.
