Obituary

Deanna Hammers, 78, of White Cottage, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Mon. Feb. 27, 2023. She was born on May 19, 1944 in Zanesville,  a daughter of the late Willard and Alice Dunn. Deanna was a cook for many years at Columbia Cement and later at Helen Purcell Home. She loved reading.  She is survived by four children Lisa Taggart of McConnelsville, Brenda Smith and Karen Perry of East Fultonham, and Todd (Jennie) Hammers of Mount Perry. Three brothers Larry, Mike and Marty (Gena Ann) Dunn. One sister Regina Dunn. One sister-in-law Judy Dennis Beckman. Her best friend Ann Eversole. Nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Edward Hammers, the love of her life. Her in-laws Dana and Gladys Hammers. Two sisters Janet Royer and Carol Matis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Zanesville Library. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
