Evelyn L. Jesse, 85, of Zanesville, passed away at 1:15 a.m. Thur. July 11, 2024 at Willow Haven Nursing Home.  She was born on September 21, 1938 in Roseville, a daughter of the late Oran and Lenora Chappelear.  She had been employed at Essex/Lear/United Technology for 20 plus years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary of the American Legion. She is survived by her husband   Roger A. Jesse, Sr.  One son James Dean Riley. Three daughters Darla Flinn, Janice Miller, and Barbara Denman. Three step-children Roger A. Jesse, Jr., Albert W. Jesse, and Linda Diane Jesse.  Two sisters Ann Gray and Emma Lou Gadd.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son Jerry Denman, two brothers Gene Chappelear and Leonard Chappelear, five sisters Opal Dunn, Gloria Fenton, Ella Wince, Rosetta McGee, and Alice Hinkline.  Friends may call from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Mon. July 15, 2024 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tue. July 16, 2024 with Rev. Darryle Moody officiating. Burial will be held in Rose Hill Cemetery.
