Georgia M. Smith, 99, of Zanesville, passed away at 1:24 p.m. Sunday June 27, 2021 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. She was born on October 14, 1921 in Roseville, a daughter of the late George and Bessie (Cooper) McCaughey. She attended Roseville Schools and worked for 19 years at Cookson Pottery. She was a member of the Roseville United Methodist Church and well-known for her delicious butterscotch pies. She was a 47 year member of the Order of Eastern Star #251 in Duncan Falls. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great-grandmother.

She is survived by her son Gary (Elisa) Smith, daughter-in-law June Smith. Six grandchildren Doug (Stephanie) Smith of Zanesville, Cindy (Phil) Feaster of Newark, Dean (Jan) Smith of Zanesville, Brian (Shelia) Smith of Roseville, Shawn (Missy) Smith of Corning and Tamara (Bob) Cheney of Zanesville. 16 great-grandchildren Christopher (Melanie) Miller, Matthew Miller, Marc Miller, Meighan (David) Muncy, Michael Feaster, Courtney (Kyle) Shirer, Brady Smith, Carly Smith, Brittani (Cody) Parker, Brooke Smith, Bailee Rose Smith, Hannah Cheney, Shyann Cheney, Carson Cheney,Tyler Smith and Taylor (Jordan) Swingle. Fourteen great great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Sherman Smith who died in 1981, her son Sanford "Sandy" Smith who died in 2010, a brother Carl McCaughey, a sister Olive Maxwell. Half sister Grace Greene. A cousin Cecil Lasure.

Calling hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wed. June 30, 2021 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage where funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Jerry Sutton officiating.Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Roseville United Methodist Church.
