Glenn James Poirier, 40 years old of Newark Ohio, took his life tragically on Sunday August 24,2025. Glenn was a bright light everywhere he went, with the biggest smiles and best hugs. He was loved by many and always tried to make you laugh. He will be missed dearly. 

He was born October 26, 1984 in Camden NJ. He joined the marines in 2004, did 2 tours in Iraq and 1 in Afghanistan before being stationed in Arizona. He is survived by his 3 sons Andrew, Jacob, and Alek, his father Mark Poirier, his step mom Barbara Burke, his twin sister Virginia Poirier, his sister Wendy Bastow, his brother Jimmy McKnight, 4 nephews Daniel, Michael, Anthony, TJ, and 1 neice Mackenzie, step father Micheal Barraclough, grandmother Arlene Barraclough, as well as 2 Aunts and many cousins.  Glenn is proceeded by his mother Barbara Barraclough and his sister Cindy Smyth. 

We will hold a military send off on September 6, 2025 at 2pm at Dillon state park by the beach. There is a gofundme to help the family with services.
