James Durant Obituary

James Earl Durant, 78, of South Zanesville, passed away at 10:40 a.m. Wed. March 17, 2021 at Genesis Hospital. He was born on Nov. 20, 1942 in Zanesville, a son of the late William R. Durant and Viola Durant Lighthizer. He was a United States Air Force Veteran serving from 1961-1965 and he retired from Travis Air Force Base. He was a lifetime member of Zanesville Eagles. He is survived by his wife Carol Durant. Three sons James Durant, Shane Durant, and Chad Durant. Grandchildren Tasha Hale, Lukas and Raylynn  Durant. Great-grandchildren Luke and Dennis Hale. One sister Pam Vandenbark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Roger Durant. His father and mother-in-law Howard and Katie Caldwell.

Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sun. March 21, 2021 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Mon. March 22, 2021 with Pastor Aaron Bounds officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery where Zanesville VFW and American Legion will conduct military honors.
