James A. Shriner, Jr., 79, of Junction City, passed away at 10:08 a.m. Sat. Jan. 16, 2021 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born on Jan. 7, 1942 in Somerset, Ohio, a son of the late James A. Shriner, Sr. and Eva (Mohler) Shriner. He was a longtime Perry County resident. He was a truck driver and diesel mechanic in his working career. He raised chickens, enjoyed pulling tractors, served in the Army National Guard and was a member of the Junction City Legion.
He is survived by six children Deb (Joe) Mattis, Brinda Young, Steve (Julie) Shriner, Teresa (Terrance) Gregg, Jared (Miranda) Shriner, and Holly (Wyatt) MacLean. 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Susan K. (Paynter) Shriner. One son Tim Shriner. Three sisters Deanna Unger, Miriam Morrison, and Ethel Shriner. One brother Paul Shriner.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thur. Jan. 21, 2021 at Maplewood Cemetery in New Lexington.
