James "Jim" Brown Obituary

James "Jim" Brown, 78, of Zanesville, passed away at 2:18 p.m. Sunday November 28, 2021 at AlterCare of Zanesville. He was born on June 30, 1943 in Zanesville, a son of the late Harold and Marguerite (Staples) Brown. He was retired from the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office. After he retired from the Sheriff's Office he established Jim Brown Construction.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Ruth Ann (Collins) Brown. His children James (Julie) Brown II, Lisa (Frank) Gheen, and Tom (Hayley) Brown. Six grandchildren Tyler (Brianna) Gheen, Levi Gheen, Carley Gheen, Emma Brown, Avery Brown, and Aiden Brown. One great-grandchild on the way. Two sisters Reta (Dale) Collins and Jennifer Hurt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister Phyllis Jewett and two infant sons.
