Jerry David Stump, “Stumpy”, of Avondale went home to be with the Lord on July 2, 2022 after a short battle with cancer. He was born July 12, 1939 in Crooksville, Perry County Ohio to the late Dewey “Ray” and Emma B. (Brown) Stump.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Mary Ann (Stump) Estep, his wife Charlotte (Young) Stump and his step-son Robert Young, his sister Marilyn J (Stump) Burley and an infant brother, Raymond L. Stump.
He is survived by his step-daughter Rebecca “Becky” (Young) Williams her children Elizabeth Williams, Wesley Williams, daughter in law, Stephanie (Northrup) Young, Alanna Young, Kylie Young and Candice (Brady) Stephenson, special friend Marjorie Carnes and her family Rick (Betty) Saylor, Vicki (Stanley) Pickens, Debbie Alexander, Bo (Tammy) Saylor and Becky Bruce that adopted Jerry as their own. He is also survived by his nephews Bruce (Debbie), Keith (Katie) and Brian (Jane) Burley and his niece Marcia (Barry) Miller and countless friends and co-workers.
He loved visiting with people, attending the Muskingum County Fair, going to Friday night square dances at the Muskingum County Center for Seniors and going to tractor pulls and the Farm Science Review. He was a proud retiree of Creative Packaging Inc. in Zanesville.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Sat. July 9, 2022 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home in White Cottage with service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Dick Newlon officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
