John E Hicks

John E. Hicks, 58, of Roseville (Avondale), was called home to the Lord on Sun. Sept. 29, 2019. He was born on Oct. 23, 1960 in Zanesville. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He was a very intelligent man that is going to be missed very much by all who had the privilege  to  know him. John was a driver supervisor at Ohio Textile Service. In reality he was much more. He was a jack of all trades or the man with many hats. Anyone who needed help John was always there to lend a hand. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years Mary J. Hicks. His children Holly (Elisha) Waltz, Amy (Frank) Grannon, Stefanie (David) Joslin, Jeffrey (Heather) Bruce, and Amanda (Matt) Schmitt. 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and one more on the way. His father John C.Hicks. Two brothers Raymond Hicks and Donnie (Rebecca) Hina. Three sisters Dorothy (Jeff) Kirkbride, Sharon (Mike) Cummings, and Shirley (David) Etters. Many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by one daughter Dawna June Hicks Cox. His mother Donna Hina. His maternal grandparents who raised him Wilbur and Dora Hina.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p..m. Tue. Oct. 1, 2019 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wed. Oct. 2, 2019. Burial will be in Iliff Cemetery.
