John Douglas List, 87, of Mount Perry, went home to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 30,2022. He was born on August 8, 1935 in Columbus, a son of the late Phillip Adam and Edna Pauline List. He met his wife Ginny on a "blind date" that lead to 65 years of marriage. She was the love of his life and his children and grandchildren were the joys of his life. John was a five year veteran of the United States Marine Corps. John worked for Big Bear stores for 38 years and retired as a manager. He still had many fond memories of employees who had worked for him through the years and often spoke of them. Later he and his wife Ginny were the owners of List Mini Storage. John was able to participate in multiple missionary trips to Chile, Argentina, and Guatamala. He was neve shy about sharing his faith and praying with others. John loved watching The Ohio State Buckeyes and almost always wore a t-shirt or hat showing The United States Marine Corps or Jesus. He was preceded in death by his parents, all his siblings, and one grandson Benjamin Joseph Smith. Left to treasure his memories are his wife Ginny. Three children Cindy (Paul) Davis, Amy (Chris) Zinn, and J.D. (Andi) List. Grandchildren Nicole (Bo) Coconis, Jamie (Caity) Davis, Darcie (Clay) Davis, Marissa (Marcus) List, Caleb (Jensen) Zinn, and Joshua Zinn. Great-grandchildren Nora, Wyatt, and Sutton. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tue. Oct. 4. 2022 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wed. Oct. 5, 2022 at Rhema House of Worship with Pastor Wes Kidwell officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
