John M. Ludwig, 76, of Zanesville, passed away at 12:58 a.m. Thursday February 23, 2023 at his home. He was born on November 12, 1946 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, a son of the late John J. and Rose Ludwig. He is survived by his wife Paulette Ludwig. Four children Todd Ludwig, Tammy Richardson, Tiffany Ludwig (Bradley Perry), and Tonya Morrison (Brian Patterson). Grandchildren Layne Beisser, Dakota Perry, Dylan Miller, Toddie Ludwig, Spencer Richardson, Nicholas Morrison, Courtney Bradley, and Kyler Ludwig. Great-grandchildren Olivia Miller, Lawson Bradley, Parker Bradley, Knox Bradley, Reid Bradley, Corrini Bradley, Bowen Morrison, and Andrew Jasper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Richard Ludwig. He was a United States Navy veteran. He worked as a supervisor at Peabody Coal Company until 1989 and then he owned and operated Ludwig Construction Company until he retired. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
