ZANESVILLE: Julia Marlene Barker, 89, of Center Rd., Zanesville, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Willow Haven Nursing home in Zanesville, Ohio.

Marlene was born September 22, 1933 in Crooksville, Ohio.
She was a very loving and devoted mother who loved the Lord Jesus. She was a creative homemaker who at times worked various jobs when necessary at Essex Wire and Custom Coil. In addition, she served as church secretary at the Brush Creek Chapel for over twenty years.

She is survived by her two sons, Perry County Sheriff William R. (Laura) Barker and Russ (LeeAnn) Barker of California; six grandchildren, Karen Barker, Jonathan Barker, Joseph Barker, Rebekah Bolin, Bethany Barker, and Daniel Barker; five great grandchildren Zach, Caden, Colton Barker, and Atalie and Everlie Bolin. Her siblings Addie Robison and Carol Eppley both of Zanesville, Fred (Ron) Robison of Crooksville, and Judy Wentz of Sebring, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James C. and Orlena Robison, her husband Carl Barker, and one brother Glen Robison.

Viewing hours will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday April 26, 2023 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Brush Creek Chapel on State Route 555. Pastor Clay Hannum and Pastor Larry Harper will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
