Karen Ann (Miller) Harter 1963-2021
It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that I, Jake Imlay, state that my mother Karen Miller Harter passed away on Thur. Sept. 30, 2021. She was suddenly diagnosed with cancer last month and it took her away very quickly. She was with her brother Greg Miller, niece Sarah Miller-Pierce, and youngest son Austin Harter at the time of her passing and was comfortable and at peace. She leaves behind her two sons Jake (Hye Jin) Imlay and Austin (Maxx) Harter. Two grandsons Jacob Imlay, Jr. and William Imlay. Her brother Greg Miller. Niece Sarah (D.J.) Pierce and her children Chloe and Carter. Nephew Sean (Chelsea) Miller and his daughter Hadley.
Step-mother Kay Miller. Step-son Jeremy Harter. Special friend Joyce Wofter.
She was preceded in death by her parents Larry Miller and Nevelyn Harter.
I was fortunate enough to spend the last two weeks in North Carolina with her before she transferred up to Ohio. My mother was a very loving and caring person and she will be missed more than words can express. She loved Austin and I very much as well as her two grandsons. She was like a mom to many of my friends growing up and would give anything and everything she had to help us out.
She was a 1981 graduate of Maysville High School. She was a respiratory therapist at Cardiology Asscociates. She was an avid OSU fan, was a friend to all, had a great sense of humor, loved animals, and sang in the choir at Rolling Plains United Methodist Church.
Right now we are all devastated and trying to deal with her passing the best we can. The saving grace is that I know she is no longer in pain and rejoicing in heaven. I love you mom and I will see you again someday.
I want to say thank you to all who gave their support over the last 7 weeks, especially Grandma Kay Lewis Miller and Sarah. You don’t know how much it lifted her spirits and mine to receive so many prayers, messages, and encouragement from all of you.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tue. Oct. 5, 2021 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage, Ohio 43791. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sat. Oct. 9, 2021 at the funeral home and burial will follow in Wesley Union Cemetery.
