Linda Louise (Porter) Johnson Obituary

Linda Louise Johnson, age 72, was born on October 27, 1953, in Fultonham, Ohio, and passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, at Adam’s Lane Health Center in Zanesville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maxine and William Porter; her siblings, Carol Poland and William Porter; her husband, Charles Wayne Johnson; and her loyal dog, Nipper.

Linda was her own person—steadfast, curious, and unafraid to speak her mind. She met life head-on, guided more by instinct than instruction, and made no apologies for living on her own terms. She loved a good book, a good laugh, and a late-night horror movie that made her jump just enough to grin afterward. If you asked for her opinion, she gave it to you straight—honest, sharp, and real—because that was her way.

Her faith in Jesus Christ ran quiet but deep. She didn’t wear it loudly, yet it shaped the way she faced the world—with courage, humor, and a stubborn kind of grace.

In her later years, what defined Linda most were the friendships that became her chosen family. She loved deeply and was loved deeply in return. The friends who stood beside her—who opened their homes, saved her a seat at the table, and treated her as one of their own—brought her laughter, comfort, and belonging. She adored the children and grandchildren who welcomed her with open arms, and she cherished them as if they were her own.

Linda spent most of her life in Fultonham, where the pace was steady and the people knew one another by name. She found joy in the simple rhythm of her days—a good scary book, a familiar movie flickering late into the night, and the quiet comfort of home. She believed that love wasn’t about grand gestures, but about showing up, remembering, and caring.

She will be remembered for her wit, her honesty, and her unwavering sense of self. To those who called her friend, she was family. And to those who loved her, she’ll never truly be gone—just waiting in the next room, where the light is soft and the movie’s just begun.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at The Mill at Jonathan Creek on Thursday, December 4th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
