Martha J (Strouse) Stanbery

Martha J. Stanbery, 94, of Zanesville, passed away at 5:25 p.m. Tue. Sept. 18, 2018 at the Oaks at Northpointe. She was born on Sept. 14, 1924 in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Ernest J. and Gladys (Stickel) Strouse. She had formerly been employed at Artley’s Dress Shop and then at Elder-Beerman.

She is survived by one daughter Susan (Tom) Brock. One son Steven (Rita) Stanbery. Five grandchildren Tammy Lane, Ted Brock, Stefanie Terrill, Patrick Stanbery, and Jenna Stanbery. Great grandchildren Ryan and Sarah Cooper, Erin Lane, Katlyne Terrill, Logan, Leslie, Layne, and Luke Brock, Regan and Ellison Stanbery.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Gene Stanbery. Her twin sister Margaret Strouse. Three brothers Bill, Richard, and Charles “Babe”  Strouse.

Friends and family may call from 1:00-2:30 p.m. Fri. Sept. 21, 2018 at WILLIAM THOMPSON  & SON FUNERAL HOME 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage where funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Steve Dupler officiating. Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriver’s Hospice or the Muskingum County Animal Shelter.
