Nancy Daniel Sagle

Feb. 2, 1943- June 9, 2026

Nancy Daniel Sagle, 83, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully at home with her loving caregivers at her side on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.  She was born on February 2, 1943 to the late Edward and Bessie Saxton Daniel.  Nancy was a 1961 graduate of Roseville High School where she was a majorette.  She was the National Cherry Pie Baking Champion in 1960 and, anyone who knows her, knows how much she enjoyed baking and sharing those pies with friends, family and anyone who wanted a slice of heaven.  She became an LPN after her children were all in school and later became an RN.  She was born to be a nurse having taken care of her own mother the last several months of her life as well as countless patients and family members through the years. 

Nancy is survived by her children Daniel Holdcroft, Christopher Cannon and Johanna (Mark) Hedges; four grandchildren, Erin Adolph, Kristina (Bryan) Handshy, Zachary Holdcroft and Corey Hedges. Four great grandchildren,  Cannon & Everlei Adolph and Conlee & Bexlee Handshy as well as numerous other family members including a special niece, Pam Vandagriff.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings- John Daniel, Anna Lee Wilkinson, Wanda Shirer and Ronald Daniel. She was also preceded in death by the love of her life, Leiland Cannon and her ex husband who she remained friends with and provided care for during his final years, Rolland “Hoke” Sagle.

William Thompson and Son Funeral Home will be assisting the family and Nancy will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery in Roseville.  No calling hours will be observed and a private service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery.
