Richard "Dick" Eugene Liggett

Richard "Dick" Eugene Liggett, 86, of Zanesville, Oh, passed away on Thursday January 6th, 2022 at 12:16 AM at home surrounded by loving family. Richard was born July 11th, 1935 in Hopedale, Oh, the son of William and Zora ( Dunlap) Liggett Richard has been married to his wife, Coni ( Bailey) Liggett for 45 years. They have built a beautiful life together in those years. Richard and Connie have worked together raising a family and running their own business together. Over time they retired and have helped each other through all of life's ups and downs. Richard retired from Central Ohio Coal after 20 years of service as a welder. He also retired from Lumi-lite Candle Factory after several years of service. Richard loved working on cars. He had to fix a car if he heard a noise that wasn't just right. It's like it called out to him to fix it. He also loved helping people. He would give and help with whatever people needed. He especially enjoyed working at The Anchor Church, helping build what is now named "Liggett Hall". Richard was a member of The Anchor Church. He loved God, his church family and his Pastor Aaron Bounds. Richard worked on lots of building projects over the years and served in many areas in the church. Richard always had a stern face that at first glance might be kinda scary but it didn't take long to see he loved to joke and laugh with anyone. He has so many stories of mischief with family and friends. He also has many stories of how God provides and changes lives. Remaining to cherish Richard’s memory are spouse, Coni (Bailey) Liggett; children, Doug (Denise) Liggett, Rick ( Cindy) Liggett, Richie Liggett, and Jeanie (Adam) Nelson; grandchildren,Nathan, Sawyer, Tiffany , Katawna, Hannah , Tre, Kiara, Denver, Aspen and Parker; great-grandchildren, Allie, Avery, Addison, Carver, Logan, Lauren, Lincoln, Layla, Sophia, Kolton, Estella, Alannah, Aubrielle; brother, Jerry Liggett; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Richard in death are parents, William and Zora Liggett; sisters, Helen Liggett, Jean Liggett ,Betty Patterson. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday January 10, 2022 at The Anchor Church in Zanesville where funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Aaron Bounds officiating. Burial will  follow in Fultonham Cemetery.
