Robert G. Miller, 72, of Avondale, passed away at 11:32 p.m. Tue. Dec. 19, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on August 2, 1951 in Zanesville. He was a United States Army veteran serving from 1971-1992 where he was a captain  and he was also a commander at offices in Athens, Marietta, McConnelsville, and Caldwell.  He was loved by all his enlisted men. After his time in the military, he spent his time in construction and painting. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing darts, traveling to Florida and was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State fan. He is survived by his wife Jackie (Hannahs) Miller. His children Rob (Jenni) Miller, Cindy (Tim) Lantz, Michelle Moody, and James (Danyelle) Cottrell. Grandchildren Joe, Tyler, Jacob, Ian, Cassidy, Lukas, Niklas, Brock, Daniel, Katelin, Lillie, Jordyn, and Aubrey. One great-grandchild Kayeson. One sister Beverly “Sam” (Jesse) Stouder.  The mother of his children Stephanie Miller. Sister-in-laws Debi (Louie) Northrop and Charlene Evans. Brother-in-laws Rodney (Tammy) Hannahs and Tracy Hannahs. He was preceded in death by his mother Eleanor Hoge. Step-father Dean Hoge. His father and mother-in-law John and Barbara Hannahs. Daughter Erica Miller. Brothers Roger D. Miller and Michael Hoge. Brother-in-law Danny Hannahs. Per Bob’s wishes no calling hours will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
