Shawn Anthony VanVorhis, age 50 of East Fultonham, passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning surrounded by his family due to a sudden illness. Shawn was born on October 11th, 1974, in Columbus, Ohio. He grew up in the Buckeye Lake area but later in life, he called East Fultonham home. Shawn enjoyed the outdoors and working on cars, but his true passion was his family. He absolutely loved spending time with his children and granddaughter. He was an amazing father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He always had a story to tell and could always put a smile on your face. That is why he will be deeply missed by all he came into contact with. He is survived by his children, Scottie VanVorhis of Newark, Ohio, Addison VanVorhis of East Fultonham, Ohio, and granddaughter Rozaline Newland also of East Fultonham, Ohio. A bonus daughter, Trish Metcalf of East Fultonham, and brothers, Joshua VanVorhis (Nicole) of New Lexington, Ohio, Tom Bailey (Trixie) of East Fultonham, Ohio, and Matt Bell (Lori) of East Fultonham, Ohio. Nephews, Cole Hardy, Joshua VanVorhis, Jackson VanVorhis, and Joseph VanVorhis of New Lexington, Ohio. Nieces, Jackie (VanVorhis) Shane, Mary Jo (VanVorhis) Morrison, Becca Anderson of Wooster, Ohio, and several close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Rita VanVorhis, brother Joseph VanVorhis, son Shawn VanVorhis, and cousin Linda Dover.
