Wanda Cornett, 61, of Zanesville, passed away at 3:10 p.m. Sat. Sept. 18, 2021 at Genesis Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on July 6, 1960 in Zanesville, a daughter of Walter "Butch" and Helen (Emmert) Mahan. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved going to her grandchildren's games and school events. She loved going shopping, eating out, and anything that involved her family. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1978. She had been employed at Rink's and then at Muskingum County Job and Family Services.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 36 years Kent Cornett. Three children Rachel Cornett, Jared (Tiffany) Cornett, and Stephanie Cornett. Five grandchildren Kyler Gump, Haylee Cornett, Kace Cornett, Austyn Bussey, and Harper Bussey. One sister Diane (Charles) Waugh. One brother Al Mahan. Five nieces, two nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by two infant nieces Krisiti Lee and Nicole Diana. Her paternal grandparents Walter Sr. and Helen Mahan. Her maternal grandparents Albert and Alice Emmert.
