William “Bill” "Duke" Musser, of Zanesville, after living a happy and blessed life of 83 years, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on Wednesday December 24, 2025. Bill climbed the stairs to Heaven, surrounded by his loving family.

     Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert J. and Lura M. Musser. A precious infant brother Donald “Donnie” J. Musser. Bill’s beautiful wife Shirley Jeanne (Temple) went to meet her Jesus on October 8, 2012. Bill and Shirley were happily married on February 11, 1968 and shared over 44 years of marriage. 

     Bill was fortunate to be loved by two incredible women during his life. Bill is survived by his fiancée Debbie Davis of the home. Bill and Shirley were the parents of two daughters Kristen Nicole “Niki” (Dave) Gill and Ashley Anne (Steve) Jenkins.  One sister Virginia Skinner.  Bill and Shirley were proud grandparents of Kelley (Kyle) Moyer, Heather K. Tracey, and William “Billy” (Tori) Tracey. Bill and Shirley were proud great-grandparents of Spencer and Autumn.  Two nephews Mike (Laura) Skinner and Chris (Colleen) Skinner.  Bill was looked at as a second father by Debbie's children, Darcie (Josh) Samson and their son Clancy. Clancy adored Bill and called him Paps. Debbie's other daughter Dorie (Chip) Davis. Debbie's son Dusty Davis who passed away in 2023.

     Bill was a renaissance man. He met every task and challenge head on. Bill took care of and provided for his family. The son of a coal miner and nurse, he helped  run the Musser Drive-In as a kid along with his sister Ginny. Bill drove truck in the oil fields, was a millwright at Owens Corning, drove semi for Wendy’s, all the while helping out his family and friends in his spare time. He was a contractor, carpenter, plumber, and electrician. He built multiple homes, including the family home on Opera Road, just outside of White Cottage. What he didn’t build from the foundation up, he re-modeled like the master craftsman he was. Bill restored a 1955 Chevy all by himself. Pretty good was never good enough. It had to be perfect, no matter what it was. If he didn’t know how to do it, he practiced and perfected until the project was completed to his satisfaction. He was never too busy to lend a hand to a friend. He never met a stranger and he made every person feel like they were family.  Bill traveled to London, England singing in Westminster Abbey with the Choral Society. He was a seasoned traveler. He was fond of going to colonial Williamsburg where you could see the way our country was started. He loved weekend trips to Amish country. Cannot forget his beloved feline Livvie.

     Private graveside services will be held at a later date and a celebration of life will be held at the Roseville Legion at a later date.
